Lady Gaga defines bad romance with fire and destruction. She makes love seem ugly and chaotic. I think of bad romance as something that you know will hurt you or be 'bad' for you in the end, but you still want to continue with it. The characteristics could be lying, or just putting on a show and not really meaning what you say or do with that person. Or using the person for something else. In Up, a good romance was showed through their relationship together. They get married and spend all their time together, until they grow old with each other. This shows love and trust and commitement.For me, to have a good romance the person has to be honest, but not too honest. Also, not obsessed with themselves or obsessed with me. A good romance is when the two people could have a future together and they don't plan on hurting each other.

In Up's good romance, some characteristics that define it are settled in and loving of one another. They do not want to hurt each other and have a mutual respect and love for each other. Just by her attitude throughout the whole song, you can tell she has been hurt by that man to the point where she wants revenge. What characterizes a bad romance for me is a person who is a lier, a cheater, and most of all, has no respect for what his partner says or does. They both cared immensly, helped, and continued to love each other through thick and thin, no matter what the causes. In Up, the romance between them is cute, together, what a "Picture perfect" relationship would be. They loved each other, spent all their time together, they got married, grew old together, until Ellie finally died. For me, a romance is something you do together, you love each other and can see a future with them. That person doesn't expect you to change, they want you just the way you are. They don't hurt you, or play you, or cheat. Lady Gaga's romance is like war, at the end either one or both of you is hurt. This is exact what a romance SHOULDN'T be. Relationships have commitment, honesty, feelings, love, trust.

She says, "I want your revenge," which could mean that they aren't friends, but she wants to be in a relationship. I would define a bad romance as two people who don't appreciate each other, or two people in a forced or loveless relationship. The good romance in "UP" shows that they are loyal to each other, happy together, and always there to support one another, until they grow old, and Carl still loves Ellie even after she's dead. I think a good romance for me would be one with love, but not everything is taken so seriously. We could joke around and not have to be all "lovey-dovey" all the time.

That is toatally different from what UP decsribes it as because UP desibes it as if it were a story and it has the perfect ending to it. Lady Gaga almost forces emotion into that song because you want to hate her but love her at the same time. Bad romance is the total oppisite, the romance in UP is people staying strong with eachother, and never giving up hope with eachother. The two main characters were always there for one another and they really looked like they enjoyed eachothers presence. You could tell that they were in love. Their are some key factors if deciding ur relationship is good. Just buying gifts isn't necessarily loving someone. Everyone in the relationship has to be active. The relationship in Up was good because both of the characters equally loved and were honest with eachother. A good wife or husband doesn't cheat on you. Every relationship is based off of trust. If you just want to marry someone by their looks or their money, that's wrong to the person. Love is a very complex two way road that everyone eventually should grasp. A good girlfriend is one that listens to you and cares about you and you feel the same way for the other. A bad romance could occur if you are overly obsessed with your girlfriend and she doesn't share the feelings you have. All she wants is your boatloads of money.

Some characteristics that define Lady Gaga's bad romance is the destruction and hatred that was present during the song. The description of a good romance that was featured in Up was completed different. Ellie and Carl obviously loved each other, they were having a good time with one another, and the compassion and understanding of the pair was also clearly evident. Characteristics of a bad romance for me would be one where I didn't really feel any good feelings towards the other person, or if it's not heading in a good direction. For me, a bad romance may involve deception and later it will become chaos, just as Gaga showed. In Up, it is visibly clear that they have a good romance, they did stuff together like dancing, reading, cleaned up the house, there was signs of joy. And they spent all their time with each other. Lady Gaga's bad romance deals with a love that is forced upon someone by another. Her bad romance ends in fire and destruction and consists of pain and sort of being used. For me, a bad romance is pretty much that. It's wrong when people use other people, or the people don't have real feelings for each other. Those kinds of romances usually end up in disaster. On the other end of the spectrum, the good romance in up is all about being with the other person. The two characters in Up's love story both share a common dream, and love to spend time with each other. They are always happy when in each other's presence, and enjoy helping one another out. They were always there for each other, and together they were able to stay strong through the problems they face. For me, that is a pretty good explanation of a good romance. Two people who love to be together, and never let one another down. They help the other person deal with tragedy, and are always there for them.

The way she dresses and moves defines the song and its lyrics. A bad romance, to me, is a relationship that will never be able to work out. Although, people might go along with continuing the relationship anyways, showing how its useless or "bad". in the video of the movie "Up", however, there are many things featured in it defining a good romance. From what I got out of it, a good romance is one where both people put time and effort into making it work. For example, both people are shown spending quality time with each other. They like each other's company and stay together throughout the years.

A bad romance can be described as such, full chaos and destruction, and lacking meaning to it, ultimately ending the way Lady Gaga ended her song, with one of them dead, or in a real life scenario, one of them wanting the other one dead, or gone. Up demonstrated what a good romance was supposed to be through the way the compassion was delivered, so powerful that words were not even required to depict it, with the way they dedicated their whole lives to each other and their happiness. This demonstration of love can be seen as the ideal form of a good romance, where one another is put before oneself, with complete drive to make the other happy.

I think Lady Gaga is trying to say that she wishes love was positive, and that she wishes love could be like the fairytales with the happy endings. I think Lady Gaga is trying to give you a rude awakening that love isn't always going to be a positive thing. There could be lies, cheating, abuse, no emotion, stealing,etc. I think she might've had her heart broken and just showed all the anger that she had bottled up inside of her. On the other hand, there is the love from the movie "Up." This showed a love for each other like no other. They loved each other unconditionally and were truly made for each other. Their love was like the fairytale love. They knew each other from their childhood and they loved each other ever since. They made each other so happy and completed one another. They grew old together and were still always there for each other. I think this is showing that you can trust others, and that you can fall in love and live a wonderful life together. This also shows true committment for one another. These stories show two very different and very extreme sides of love. You just have to pick the one that better fits who you are and what you want in life.

The dizzying, chaotic lifestyle depicted by Lady Gaga and the other performers represents the drive to please an apathetic or disconnected significant other in a “Bad Romance.” For me, a bad romance would be one in which one or more of the people involved in the relationship were dishonest, manipulative, or controlling of the other to a point where either one of them becomes a subordinate. In order for a relationship to work, both parties involved need to be fully committed to satisfying the needs of the other, treat each other as equals, not having one person as a leader and the other just be a lackey who is at the whim of the alpha. But most importantly of all, in order for a relationship to work, both people need to share a special bond. They need to be the best of friends, always caring for one another and looking out for each other. If there is no friendship between them, then there is truly no chance for the relationship to thrive like Carl and Ellie’s did in “Up.” The respect, love, and friendship shared by the two of them in the movie depicted exactly what is necessary for a good relationship. They cared for one another as friends do, and shared a special bond that remained unbroken by any forces in their lives working against it.

I believe several characteristics make up a "Bad Romance." One factor is a lack of trust. If someone in the other relationship breaks the trust of their partner the relationship can never be the same. Also, if one person in a relationship is more attached then the other it is also a bad romance. This is because that one person relies on the other to much. This will annoy the person less attached creating conflict. To me a good romance was depicted in the movie Up. Both characters were loving and supportive to each other. To me a good romance is one where their is love and support. I believe it is unnecessary for two people to be obsessed with each other. I would prefer to be independent and see myself as my own person then a part of someone else. Additionally, a good relationship also includes trust. Trust is very impotent. Lady Gaga defines a “Bad Romance” as an unhealthy relationship. Even though it’s unhealthy, the two people that are involved feel a need to be together. There are a few characteristics that make up a bad romance. One is if one of the people is more invested in the other. This could make a very bad romance. If one of the people cares more about the relationship than the other, it will never work. The one who is more invested will can love them a lot and want to do anything for them, but the other will still feel the same. One of the most important characteristics is trust. If you can’t trust the other person, then why should you even have a relationship? You will never be fully comfortable with them again. Even if you think you can forget about it, you really can’t. There was a depiction of a good romance in “Up”. First, they showed how Carl had kept his promise to his wife. It had been years and they had grown old, but he still kept it and went to paradise falls. Next, it showed how they both equally cared about each other. Carl cared because he stayed in the same house and fulfilled his promise, and his wife cared because of what she wrote in the book. She knew he would eventually find it, and made sure she let him know how much she loved him. This is my idea of a good romance because they both trust each other and make sure the other knows how much they care about them.

In the video all of the clothes that the dancers wore were dark and very creepy looking. Also in the video there were a lot of scary things, for example the clothing. Lady Gaga was wearing a long robe that at the end of it had a dead polar bear which terrified me deeply. The video also had a lot of death to it. For example Lady Gaga, at the end of the video, was pictured next to a dead body that had already decayed. These are the characteristics that I would use to describe a "Bad Romance". As well as the "Bad Romance" video we also watched a video clip from the movie “Up” that showed a "Good Romance". Some characteristics that describe a Good Romance to me are happiness and joy. A bad romance to me is were a person is forcing the other person in the love relationship to do what they don't want, hurt them physically, mentally, and verbally in any shape or form. Up shows a good romance because Ellie and Carl work at their relationship not like a job but a thing that they love to do in a way. They also show that it's not about money since they work at a zoo, what house they have or even what the other person looks like. Ellie and Carl just love each other for the character or beautiful personalities that they both have and each other. A good romance is in my opinion were being gay, stratight, by, or even lesbian work at their relationship not like a job but a fun ride in life. I also think that a good romance is were people have trust,respect, and understanding just as much as Ellie and Carl have together.

If two people love each other very much and are good to each other than it is healthy and good for them. The romance in Up is so sweet, and that kind of love is the kind that would be perfect.
A bad romance that Lady Gaga is referring to would be a romance that is considered bad or evil, but she keeps on going back to the romance. For me, a bad romance would be when one person is controlling the other, when someone isn't happy, or its too perfect. It normal to have arguments and fights, but true love would get back together. If its too perfect, its a fake relationship. The move Up portrays a good relationship because they are both happy through out the story. They are trusting of each others, and they both want the same thing; to get far away from where they are. When the lady dies, you can tell it takes a toll on the man. He is looking back on the relationship. If one person dies in a true relationship, a reaction similar to the old man's reaction would be seen. You can't have a relationship without happiness.

From the music video, I can tell Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' is defined by the characteristics of anger and sorrow. This is shown through the fact of how she burns the man in the end and how her dancing is full of energy that exemplifies anger through the costumes and dark facial expressions. The sorrow of the bad romance comes from when it shows a close up of Lady Gaga singing through tears. For me a bad romance would be a situation where two people are very distant from each other or where two people try to take advantage of each other that could lead to unrest and maybe even violence. On the other hand, Up gives the depiction of a happy romance where the two people care about each other through all different circumstances of life. Personally, I would enjoy the type of situation Up posses as a good romance. This would leave me with someone who knows and actually want the best for me as two people in a good romance should have.

This unhealthy relationship that she is describing seems to be about how their ‘love’ is really them trying to get revenge on each other for things they have done. They get into a vicious cycle with their relationship. Their relationship also seems to have one person wishing for it more than the other. One person is more invested than the other. But although this is what happens in their relationship, they both want to keep it together.

I would also expect that he treated those important to me with respect. For me a bad romance would also include one of us working harder for it than the other. I would want both of us to be equally committed to each other. A bad romance by my standards would also involve a lack of trust and communication between us. Lastly a bad romance would be if one of us fell out of the ‘love’ or if we didn’t get along.
In Up the characters are in a good romance. One can tell this because they have lasted through their marriage for many years and grown old together. This shows that they have been in a committed relationship for a long time. Carl and his wife are obviously in love with each other and you can tell just by the way that they act around each other. Carl also kept his promise to his wife after many years which shows how much he cared about her and valued his promises to her. These are all signs of a good romance.
To me a good romance would have to have many certain aspects. One aspect would be both people feeling the same way and equally feeling that way. Having one person feel more strongly about the other wouldn’t be a good romance. Their would also have to be a great level of trust, communication and commitment in the relationship. I would also expect that I would be treated right and everyone close to me would too. Lastly a good romance to me would require a person who was the right type of person for me. They would have to be able to mesh with my personality, care about me, and mostly keep me entertained.

In my opinion something that would make a bad romance would be someone who is controlling, does not respect me and the loved ones around me, lies to me, and is no committed to us being together. If he does not care for me as much as I would care about him then it would be considered a bad romance. A good romance is portrayed in the movie Up by the way that both the man and woman (Carl and Ellie) how much love and passion they shared as they were married up until Ellie died. Her dream being to travel to South America and live on Paradise Falls. Carl respects her dream and travels to move their house where she intended on moving before she passed away. ReplyDeleteBad Romance? Good Romance?
The characteristics that define Lady Gaga’s bad romance is creepy, disturbing, ugly. She sings about loving someone and wanting their love back, but at the same time she knows it’s a bad idea, a horrible kind of romance to be in. For me personally a bad romance would be I the relationship is abusive, there’s no trust, no loyalty, no honesty; things that are essentially needed in a relationship. In the movie Up, they two lovers have a great relationship because even when the going gets tough, they’re always there for each other, always by each other’s side through thick and thin. For someone like me a good romance would be drama free, and even if we hit some sticky spots, my better half and I would be able to work it out together as a team. A good romance would have loyalty, honesty, compassion, and most importantly trust. Trust they we can both make our own decisions and not have a single worry about it.
