LONG LASTING LOVE

Reflect on the clips taken from When Harry Met Sally.  How do the filmmakers portray these long-lasting relationships?  How do these interviews reflect the work you've done thus far in your exploration of romantic love?

  1. The filmmakers put the couple together in a room, and they talk about how they first met. All the couples are older, and they have been with each other for some time. These interviews reflect that love is immortal, and that time cannot stop true love. My interviewees have generally agreed that true love can stand to time's test.

  2. The clips show several long romances. Tthe filmakers potray the couples' love through each couple telling their stories of how they met. In our research of love we have seen a long lasting relatioship involves trust, understanding, and actual love for each other. These several couples show a true love for one another and from their stories do not seem distrustful toward each other. These are my thoughts on the When Harry Met Sally clips we just saw.

  3. These filmmakers show long-lasting relationships by showing old couples who can still talk about the day that they first met like it was yesterday. This reflects the research that we have done because it tells us that true love really exists, and that there is living breathing proof of true love.

  4. The film makers portray these long-lastingrelationships as fate, and how if two people are really meant to be together somehow in the end they will be. These interviews don't really reflect to much on the work I've done so far because most of my research have been on abusive relationships, and the ones the film makers portray are healthy, happy relationships.

These interviews exemplify the effects of romantic love over time. They show that even after the long time that the couples had been together, they still love each other very much. It also shows how love can go seemingly unmatched against even the toughest of odds and situations. As well as overcoming the test of time, some of these couples are examples of love at first sight, because as seen, they talk about when they first met their spouse, and how they knew that that person would be the only one perfect for them, like one knows "when a melon is good,".

The film makers from When Harry Met Sally portray the long-lasting relationships very clearly. In the interviews, each of the couples were very happy, lively, and knew how they felt about each other. Whoever watches them will become happy because the positive atmosphere they give out is contagious. These interviews reflect the work I've done thus far in my exploration of romantic love, because it showed long-lasting relationships that are still going. Also, it was a great example of healthy relationships. You could tell that the couples knew how to communicate, understand, and talk to each other casually, without any problems. It made it seem like their relationships would last forever.

  7. The filmmaker portrayed long-lasting relationships by showing small clips of an interview of a couple that has had a long relationship. The filmmakers mainly showed how the two met. These interviews reflect the work I have done so far by relating to the topic of love and the letter we wrote to our future mate about long-lasting relationships which we described what we hope for in a relationship. The interviews also relate to the video we presented promoting healthy relationships by showing how the people in the interviews have a healthy relationship that has lasted pretty much their whole life.

  8. The filmmakers portrayed long lasting relationships by having having them meet out of the blue even though they lived next to each other and not have met until now. In the last video the couples had been born in the same hospital, lived on the same street and had never met before. They happened to meet on the hotel elevator. When they met it was love at first sight. Now this couple finishes each others sentences. This reflects on my research because it has a couple who have been together forever and you can see that they love each other. In the video they were so excited to tell their story. If they were in an abusive relationship, or a sad one, they definitely would not have been in that type of mood.

  9. The filmmakers portray these long-lasting relationships by showing the couples talk about how in love they are. You can really tell how head over heels they are for one another just by how they talk about first meeting and when they reconnect down the road. The couples say how when they got back in touch a few years later; it was like they had never stopped talking. The couples seemed to fall in love by fate. One couple was both camp counselors at the same camp, another lived near each other their whole lives and never knew until they met in an elevator, and the last couple was high school sweethearts and bumped into each other later on in their lives and reconnected. These interviews reflect own exploration on romantic love by showing how in love anybody can be, no matter the age. It is possible to just click with somebody right away and know they are the one.

  10. In the clips taken from When Harry Met Sally, all of the couples looked really happy to be together even though so much time had passed since they met. The filmmakers showed the couples sitting next to each other, talking about the time they met. Each couple was happy and excited to share their story and they remembered that moment perfectly even thought it happened so long ago. It was probably one of the best and most important moments of their lives. These interviews reflect on the work I've done thus far because they show that if two peole are truly in love they will never stop loving each other, will always be loyal to one another, and they will always be happy together. I learned thsoe things from my interviews and they were evident in the video clips.

  11. The filmmakers portrayed these relationships as love at first sight. In the first interview, they were high school sweethearts, but he moved away. He saw a few years later on Broadway and he knew that he was going to marry her. In the last interview, the couple was born in the same hospital ,lived a block away from each other, and worked in the same hospital. They had never met. Then, they met in a hotel in Chicgo and it was love at first sight. This supports my work so far because the people that I have interviewed believe in true love. As you can see, the filmmakers portrayed the long lasting relationships as love at first sight.

  12. The When Harry Met Sally clips were short segments about how some elderly couples met and how their love lasted. The filmmakers portray these long-lasting relationships by having the couples share their adorable stories together. The viewer gets to see both sides of the story from each of the people in the couple. They portray these couples with cute poses and even some cute ways of their dialogue. One couple was constantly interrupting each other but it was lovable and made the viewers realizes how sweet the two were. These interviews reflect on the work I’ve done so far because they are experiencing true love. They have been together for the longest time and still are deeply in love with each other. This also connects a bit to the research I’ve been doing about love at first sight because some of the couples met by chance. One couple met in an elevator, another couple had been apart for a while but when they saw each other again they fell right back in love. The last couple met by chances simply because they were both at a social gathering. The When Harry Met Sally clips were very entertaining and sweet, they also connected well with the research our class is doing.

  13. The filmmakers portray these long-lasting relationships as love at first sight. When the old couples had a lot in common or knew each other from before and a s soon as they met they were in love. These interviews reflect the work I've done so far in my exploration of romantic love because the old couples were kind of like Romeo and Juliet when they first laid eyes on each other. They were in love and they didn't really even know each other. In these cases their love never died down and they always were in love.

  14. You can tell that the couples in this clips are truly in love just by the way they interact with eachother. The filmmakers show these long lasting realtionship by having older couples tell the stories of how they first met. These interviews show two people that really care about and love for eachother. They also show that even when people are together for a long time they can still be very much in love and love doesnt always die. These clips are great examples of true love that lasts a lifetime.

  15. The filmmakers used the clips from When Harry Met Sally to portray long lasting relationships by showing an old couple talking about when they first met. By seeing how happy they still were talking about when they first met each other it shows their romantic love from the moments of when they fell in love. Yet, by having them be old couples it gives the idea that these people have been together for a long time representing the long-lasting element of love as well. This represents research done thus far by talking about how people fall into true love. All the couples talk about how they got together, but none of them said it was love at first sight. They implied they were interested but it was not until they talked to one another that they fell into true love as going with some of the work we have done discussing whether or not love can be at first sight. Also, in interviews it was unanimous that true love existed and these old couples, very much in love represented it well.

The interviews reflect love long over time. For example, when the couple's complete each others sentences, you know they have been together for a very long time because they know what the other was going to say. These interviews reflect on what we know on love and relationships based on our research. these were great examples of happy, Healthy relationships, which is key to long lasting love.

  17. The When Harry Met Sally clips are about couples who have lasted decades and how they go together originally. The first movie clip involving the high school sweethearts reflects my research done. The research I have done suggests that true love never dies. This couple proves this because even though a large amount of time had passed since they had last seen each other; they were still in love. The second and third clips almost contradict what I have found in my research so far. In the second clip, the woman states that she knew he was a keeper the way you “know a good melon”. The third clip talks about a couple who met on an elevator. The man stayed on the elevator an extra 9 floors just to talk to her. These two clips support the theory of love at first sight. My research has proved you can determine whether someone is a possible mate in half a second, it has not proved that love at first sight exists.

  18. The flim makers show ptray long lasting relationships becasue they have the couples share stories from how they met each other awhile back. They show that it is evident that the couples are in love with each other. The relates to the work we are doing in class becasue they have healthy long-lasting relationships. You know that the couples have a healthy relationship because they are comfortable with one another.

  19. The film makers were able to portray long lasting love by doing one certain thing. They showed senior citizens that were in their 70s and 80s and then had them talk about the day that they first met. Of course, that day was long ago, so that means that the love was incredibly long lasting. These interviews really expanded on our love unit because we are learning about what true love really is. From all of those interviews, you get to see how true love is born. From just saying "Hi", to looking at each other, or to really have known each other for a bit before the romance started, they each had their way of creating the relationship of love that lasts forever.
